We believe in focusing resources on creating sustainable, long-term solutions to the root causes of inequality. We believe that people needing support or assistance during a crisis are capable, knowledgeable human beings with the ability to intervene on their own behalf.
We adopt the accompaniment approach in the design and implementation of our interventions because we see the humanity in the people we are with and walking alongside rather than seeing them as passive beneficiaries, numbers or even consumers.
This is why we choose to build relationships and develop new metrics for success based on the quality of people’s experiences and interactions, and the sense of safety and satisfaction that they feel from the intervention process and the outcome A world where people act together to develop their community and collective interest by volunteering for development.
We believe that when people take ownership of their problems, and act collectively by volunteering to address these problems, then positive and long-lasting solutions can be achieved.
